The Compression Task is an SSIS control flow task that can be used to compress or decompress a file or directory.
With Compression Task, developers can select between four compression levels:
- None
- Best Speed
- Default, and,
- Best Compression.
With our 2020 Release Wave 1, we added a "Compression Format" option, which allows you to compress/decompress the file in Zip, Gzip and Deflate formats. Additionally, Compression Task now supports wildcard when performing Decompress Zip file action.
